I often see Raymond Carver and his works as hidden treasure. Despite being an ardent reader myself, I discovered him in 2012. I was introduced to him by this Indie movie called Everything Must Go. The movie itself is a hidden treasure which not many have seen.

Any piece of Art that will blow your hair away will always warrant multiple outings. Art of course is subjective. To make movies, you have to watch movies, there is no question in that. But how should you watch a movie? You see, any movie that takes your attention away from its flaws or short-comings is actually a great movie with a lot of lessons in effective storytelling. As a student of the Art, it is important to look for those flaws that the movie is trying to hide from you.

Upon my recent viewing of First Man, I wasn’t really searching for Neil Armstrong though that was what the movie was supposed to be about. I was instead searching for Damien Chazelle. To my intrigue I couldn’t find any of the two. Next step in the course of action was to find out who was the Screenplay writer. And getting the answer to that question resolved the auteur queries I had, for the most part at least.

There are lot of quotes by a lot of people that come to my mind when I think about the WHY of this blog. But something that a mentor of mine once mentioned is what I would like to believe is truer than most of the things about the WHY of this Blog. Why Desi Auteur?
